The very large island has an overhang to allow people to sit at it. It accommodates a microwave and very large pull out shelves , a preparation sink and Tweeny waste disposal and a pull-out bottle store next to a pull-out bin. The sink side is at a lower level for those tasks that are easier to do at a lower level, such as pastry.
