An interesting house in an interesting part of London and I believe a very interesting kitchen.

The house and area was designed in 1907 -1908 by the well known designer/architect Sir Edwin Lutyens . The style is late 17th century.
I incorporated a number of the aspects of Arts and Crafts design in the kitchen that were evident in the house and some features that I have noticed occur in that style of furniture.
The room is difficult from the kitchen design point of view because it has folding doors into the dining room on one wall, a large walkway through on another, and very low sliding sash windows. So wall space is very restricted.
The tall cupboards both have protruding cornices that carry spotlights.
The doors of the larger cabinet fold right back against the sides to expose the shelving and bread bin. Beneath are pull out shelves.
We installed the small decorative shelf with little brackets running around the walls at picture rail height.
The island unit contains a Miele combination microwave and warming drawer. It also has a pull out surface in oak with 2 stools.
The tiles were supplied by Chantecler Tiles.
